RE: Followup to April 20 Meeting with FoNTRA
Dear Minister Wynne:
Thank you for meeting with the FoNTRA Executive on April 20, 2012. Attached are the FoNTRA notes from this meeting. We are pleased that there will be a Roundtable established by the government on planning reform, particularly OMB reform, and we look forward to hearing more about this.
Also, As discussed we are forwarding some correspondence on the Chimneys issue. This issue has been championed by the South Armour Heights Residents’ Association (SAHRA), a FoNTRA member. Enclosed are:
• SAHRA’s statement of the issue
• SAHRA’s request to the Buildings Branch for Building Code changes
• The Buildings Branch response to SAHRA’s submission.
Given the response from the Buildings Branch that the answer lies beyond the Ontario Building Code, we would request that the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing coordinate the more wide-ranging investigation and solution seeking to the issue that is apparently required.
Thanks again for meeting with us.
Yours truly,
Geoff Kettel | Peter Baker |
